Mount Eden was done on a windy, cold, drizzly day, but it was great to do regardless. I hadn't really spent much time up Mt Eden before, but it is a very popular mount with many visitors. I found myself a bench just down from the trig and out of the wind to make my contacts.
While there I chatted with ZL1DEN Dennis and ZL1ABR Barry on the Klondyke repeater.
This was also the first time I used DMR (ZL TRBO network) and I managed to make contact with ZL2JVM Findlay who is based in Churton Park, Wellington.
I also tried my luck on the Mercury Bay repeater in the Coromandel and made contact with ZL1LC Jim.
So all in all, it was a far-reaching endeavour from Mt Eden, despite the weather.
Side note - I understand the trig at Mt Eden is to be removed; so I am glad to have this photo to show what it once was.
