When I chose my primary callsign, ZL3AQT, I selected it because of how the number and letters sounded and how "easy" they were to say out loud over the radio.

Now I am doing digital modes and have a new appreciation for how callsigns look when written down, as opposed to how they sound out loud.

Some cool callsigns I have seen in digital modes include ZL1ON (read as "Z LION") and VK1TTY (read as "V KITTY") and I decided I wanted a callsign that looked interesting for on-screen use.

I tried going for ZL1MA (read as "Z LIMA") but that was not available at the time, so I ended up with ZL4DIGI - the perfect callsign for doing digital modes from ZL land!

I look forward to making may long distance contacts and trying different digital modes.
